Odd Matter will be joining Dutch Invertuals and present a new installation interpretation of Node at the ‘No Static’ exhibition during Dutch Design Week.
In present times of perpetual transformations and shifting territories, the immaterial world is gaining ground at an exponential rate. Physical bodies attach themselves relentlessly to screens and digital interfaces. Nevertheless, experiences of sensing, feeling and tasting sustain the connection to our material embodied fundament.
Within the search for a new world, the designers of this exhibition use the concept of motion to find new forms and tactilities, generating new ideas for a future relation between the body and its environment. By understanding the world in its daily movements, from national politics and global economy, to the smallest biological entity, we can see such transitions as prerequisite for progress.
The designers are challenged to look beyond their discipline and think of objects that hold new and yet unknown purpose. These objects of motion are there to surprise and wonder the audience, to move people towards something unfamiliar yet intriguing.
